Course Aim

This easy-to-follow course is part of a series which form a perfect hands-on accompaniment to learning, aimed at helping novices and all practitioners, whatever their role or skill levels, to quickly become proficient with 2D and 3D computer aided design (CAD) using the world's leading product, Autodesk AutoCAD. Individual modules contain clear learning objectives and practical, task-based step-by-step examples, covering the software's core features and functionality, ensures you are productive from the very start of your learning. Module 01

Introduction to AutoCAD

Getting started, introducing the menus and screen layout

File formats and basic file operations – open, close, new, save, etc

The exercise explores ways to open a drawing, and navigating using tools

Creating Basic Shapes

Drawing and erasing lines

Methods of placement and definition

The exercise uses tools to draw a door and a circular light

Module 03

Creating a Simple Drawing and Shapes

This module comprises of two exercises, one to create a drawing and one to create a simple shape. To reinforce the basics covered so far, these include:

              Lines, rectangles and circles

              Relative and absolute coordinates

              Polar tracking

Module 04

Drawing Accuracy

Using snaps to improve the accuracy of selection

Object snaps, snap tracking

Changing object snaps

Drawing with grid and snap

Polar tracking at angles

This exercise explores the use of object snaps, override snaps, polar tracking and object snap tracking

Manipulating Objects
